Remember the times at the town store, around the pot belly stove, whittlin' on a piece of wood, leaned back in the chair and chewin' the fat about what's happening around town? Since 1961, PROBLEM CORNER has been the community radio forum for Fairbanks with an unmatched popularity and a multi-generation following. It's the only local radio talk show where the callers set the agenda, and it all started over 47 years ago when a caller asked the host of the afternoon show for help.
Bill Walley took the call from a distraught lady whose dog was missing, and his heart went out to her, so a few minutes of the show was set aside. Lo and behold, other listeners had their OWN problems! The 10-minute feature "Problem Corner" was born.
Over the years, the show has evolved, eventually expanding to two hours long in the afternoon!
Now, we've got the perfect balance: one hour, right before lunch: time enough to discuss the issues, but not so long as to belabor the point!
In addition to the traditional call-in <(907) 458-TALK>, listeners may also join in the discussion in the chat room.
